Computer Problems and Solutions

Problem: PC always restart when trying to download large files, like mp3, game patches. It
can only download less than 5mb if greater than 5mb.

Solution: -try to scan your computer with antivirus software with updated virus definition
files and also with any updated spy ware software.
-if found some try to remove it.
-be sure that you are dowloading from a trusted site
-most free downloads from net aren't virus or spy free so be careful for that..
-it looks like a memory problem.
-if more than one, try to swap the slots of these memory chips. if it works, the
memory on the previous first slot could be leaky.
Replace with new memory specially if it's still under warranty.

Problem: How to increase the concurrent connection of windows xp with service pack 2 coz as of now the concurrent connection of windows xp is 10 only, Already try the patch that allowing up to 50 concurrent connection but it does not work at all...

Solution: By default, the Microsoft IIS server hosted on Windows XP is configured to a maximum of 10 concurrent connections. This limit can be debilitating when developing with SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services on XP because each Web browser connection consumes more than one connection. Once you start to get 403.9 errors, it appears that even when IIS times out and closes those connections (as confirmed by the performance monitor), you can still get strange errors when opening a new connection. However, at this point, these errors are generated by Reporting Services rather than by IIS.
The solution for this problem is to increase the maximum number of connections to 40 by editing the IIS metabase. We used the IIS MetaEdit utility to make the change. Like the registry editor, this tool comes with warnings such as "Beware a professional with a tool." To tune the IIS metabase on your development system, perform the following steps:
Find and download the IIS MetaEdit 2.2 utility. The Microsoft Knowledge Base Article "HOW TO: Download, Install, and Remove the IIS MetaEdit 2.2 Utility" (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/232068) should help you locate the tool. Install it and run it.
Next, locate LM W3SVC in the Metabase Editor, and double-click the MaxConnections entry to launch the Edit Metabase Data dialog box. In the Data text box, increase the MaxConnections (ID-1014) to a value no higher than 40. If you try to increase the MaxConnections to a value greater than 40, you'll find that it will get the better of you. A MaxConnections value entry is created directly in the LM W3SVC 1 node, which is the default Web site, and that value (which you'll find by its ID of 1014) will be set to 10. If this happens to you, you can safely delete the MaxConnections with an ID of 1014 in LM W3SVC 1, but only after you have set the MaxConnections value in LM W3SVC to a number less than 40.
Finally, close the Metabase Edit tool and restart IIS.
We've not had a problem with 403.9 errors since we increased the limit, but if you still are able to lock up IIS in developer scenarios, you might investigate setting the Connection Timeout property to a lower value to decrease the time before IIS detects that a connection is idle and disconnects it. You can set the Connection Timeout property on the Web Site tab of the Default Web Site Properties dialog box.

Problem: Problem is can't log on to Windows environment, and interrupt the chkdsk by restarting the computer then when i log on again a page prompted that can choose between this options:
1. Safe Mode
2. Safe Mode w/ Command
3. Safe Mode W/ Network
4. Last Known Good Configuration
5. Start Windows Normally
But still cannot log on to Windows environment the same message prompted.

Solution: Slave the hardisk to other PC. Then back up first the important data. Go to my computer right click on the slave hardisk > properties > tools > error checking > check now > check all the option. If it says restart you PC then restart it. Wait for PC finish fixing such error.

Problem: How can i merge or make partitions using built in utilities of windows xp os? I used to make partitions before using in windows ME, but there's no fdisk in windows xp os.

Problem: How to restore the default drivers for USB devices in Windows 2000 without using Windows 2000 installer?

Solotion: USB drivers are normally included in Win2000, WinXP and Win2003 OS. If even when you plugin your USB drive, and the OS can't detect it, it is most likely that your system administrator have disabled the USB ports in the CMOS setup.

Problem: Install and Restore Pc during dual boot.

Solution: To install and restore the pc for dual boot capabilities. All you need is your setup CD or the Windows installation CD. It is better for you to install first the newest Operating System that you have and when your done try to install the second OS make sure that select a path where you can install you second OS and follow the instructions. Example Windows XP and Windows 98 Note: When you Install Windows XP and 2000 you can use the NTFS or FAT32 as your partition. If you will install Windows 98 or ME you can use only FAT32 as your partition table because it can’t recognise the NTFS partition. For the given example above you can use only FAT32 on you partition.
